Dark Screen after OS update

Now everything time I turn my MBP, I need to press F2 to be able to see something. I notice this happened after installing the lastest OS (Leopard) software update. At start up I am able to see the blue screen, but once the OS is loaded the screen goes to black. Is there a fix to this?
