powerbook 12" g4 vertical lines

Hello, I work for the computing division of the University of Haifa in Israel.
We are customers and own many of mac products for researching.
Yesterday we started having problems with a powerbook g4 , it shows vertical lines from the start up after the black screen.
Looking for a solution I found that the origin of the problem is a mistake during it's production, a factory problem.
I was trying to contact apple but I can't find their e-mail on their website, and everytime I try to send the form I got an error of their webserver.
Someone knows how can I fix this problem?

so, someone knows if is possible to fix it without buying a new screen?

at least can someone recommend me a good forum of hardware issues?

As no one has responded, look at this link for possible fixes involving resetting the PRAM and immediately changing resolution. Hope it works.

Harryb, thank you very much, I was looking hours for a solution and I just found people angry with apple. I think the problem may be due update cause it happened after an INTERRUPTED update of 600 mb...but i don't know...when I arrive home ill try the possible solutions you gave me.
