I have never gotten into it really. I have gone a couple times with others, but I do not have an auger, tip-ups/tiny spinning setups, a hut, or any of the other necessities (although beer is just a store away ;D ) for ice fishing. If i had a thousand bucks sitting around to buy the basics, I think I would get into it...

gangsta - which at least has the pretension of manliness, and welfare, which sadly does not. now if you were to become a hobo, now that would be manly!

I will assume by your post you're in a cold weather climate? Why not learn to snow ski or snowboard? Of course knowing how to perform your own car maintenance is about as manly as it gets.
