Should I enable Quartz 2D Extreme and Quartz GL?

MacBook Pro 2.53GHz, 6GB of RAM, Seagate Momentus XT 500GB (late 2008)
So what's the deal with these? Using the Secrets pref pane I found two disabled items: Quartz 2D Extreme and Quartz GL. Is it safe to enable them? Is is recommended?

I've a new MBP with the 9600M GT w/512MB of VRAM.
