So I'm new here and new to macs in general . I'm looking to make the switch but want to buy something cheap to pay around with for now . I've got around $200-$300 to spend and have found mac minis g4 or imac g4 in that range .... so my question is which way do I go . I'm not looking to do anything crazy just basic stuff with it . Thanks for any advice !

- MacMini 14.3, 8.1 & 4.1, OS 13.5, 10.14, & 10.11 & 10.6; Macbook Pro 8.2, OS 10.12.
With the Mac mini, you'll need an external monitor (extra cost?) whereas with the G4 iMac, it has its own flat screen. My vote would go for the iMac if its specs are similar to the mini. You can do more upgrading with the iMac.
