wireless keyboard& mouse problem

Setting up wireless keyboard and mouse... but can't get started.

I'm usinga an IBook PowerPC G4 with Bluetooth; 10.4.11.

I've downloaded Apple's wireless keyboard updater.app and ditto for the mighty mouse. But neither will open. Looks like I'm missing some basic software; have tried searching Apple site and VersionTracker, but no joy yet.

Any suggestions?

Firstly have you installed the keyboard and mouse software whilst using a wired keyboard and mouse? You should have a CD named 'Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Software' which came with the keyboard and mouse.

As the machine is a G4, how is Bluetooth powered, a USB dongle from D-Link version 120 or built in via a Bluetooth card?
