so I need some help, my parents are getting rid of direct tv and our 4 dvrs and downgrading to cable, inorder to save money. we will have 2 boxes only one is a dvr. if you plug a tv it to one of the lines with no box you get the first 70 channels. This means i wont have a dvr anymore. what can i do.

Pay your parents the extra $5 a month it cost to have a DVR.

At least that is what it cost for me per DVR I have in my house.

Way... way too many specs to list.
yep, you could pay for it. it's amazing how things have changed though, we had 3 channels... only 1 of which really came in well, pretty much up until high school when I paid for cable for the house

if you just use your DVR to rewatch shows, try finding the episodes online. i know Watch TV Sitcoms.Com has all the shows i watch. but for sports your SOL. if you use the DVR for something else then thats a different story.

2bills for a box?? that's crazy! I didn't have to buy mine, just pay $5 a month to 'rent' it until I change services or cancel.

Boy you really have it rough. From the specs in your profile....

Mac Specs: blackmac book with 4gig ram. ipod touch jailbroken 2.1. iMac all running lepord

Kids today don't know how well off they really are. BTW, you should fix the spelling of Leopard.

Using it in the sense of "Made apathetic by experience" isn't 100% correct, but neither is spoiled.

I can't put my finger on the perfect word though.

You could build an HTPC with a DVR function, or use an elgato EyeTV, I think they allow you to record TV

Hulu has a ton of shows online and most networks post their shows online too. What are you looking to DVR really?
