{{did not know exactly where to put this, feel free to move it}}

hey folks. I am going to be selling my pc to the group that i am in in order to save them some money and for me to easily get rid of it. i was wondering what a good price would be...they offered me 500 for it but i just laughed and said more like 200...this is what it is:

Dell Dimension 8100 (4 years old)
1.5 P4 processor
256 ram
win me
boatload of apps and mp3's
um...a good sound and video card

computer isnt going to be used for much more than listening to music, sending and recieving email, and using publisher and dreamweaver on occasion (less stuff than i used it for)

TIA

Well, to give you an idea - I just sold a Dell Dimension 8200, 2GHz P4, 256 RAM, 40GB HDD Windows XP machine with a Dell 17" FP display.
I also threw in a Linksys wireless router, Linksys wireless PCI card, plus an old Soundblaster Live! soundcard as well. Price? $550.
I paid that much just for the monitor a couple of years ago. :eek:neye:

i turned down 500 because i know how it will affect MY budget for set building for shows we will be doing in the next few months. we have about 7 g's but i think the set for the second show is going to cost about 5g's and then we need to pay musicians, and then we need to pay scripts and rights and then we need to pay other things....and then practically no one comes to our shows ;)

I think a deuce sounds fair, but then I think that all you are doing when you buy a PC is holding a spot on your desk for the next one (pre-switch, buy the best system ever and then see it drop in price that afternoon...or worse)

I think that's a win-win deal, really. They are getting it as-is where is, and you have helped them out.
