Please help, I have encrypted some of my hard drive with disc utility and deleted the disc image that allows me to access the encrypted area. Is there anyway to access this area of my hard drive? I am using 10.5 any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

If you've deleted the disk image which has the key to access the encrypted area of the drive, your data that was encrypted is toast. :[ The only way you're going to get that area of the drive back for use is to make a backup of what data you can and use Disk Utility from the install DVD to erase, partition, format, and reinstall OS X.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but one of the hazards of encrypting data is losing the key. Don't use encryption unless absolutely necessary.

Regards.
