No you do not need to jailbreak. The Palringo app is available via iTunes. It has low ratings though.

Does it? I've tried quite a few MSN iphone apps and that was the best by far. Keeps you logged into there servers for upto 3 hours so you can open and close the app and you don't get signed in and out. Works beautifuly.

A lot of the low reviews are about privacy issues.

I'll second IM+ Lite. I've only used it a handful of times but it works just fine.

I use Palringo. I find it to be pretty good/easy to use and supports other IM stuff like AOL and Yahoo! if you use that as well. I haven't tried other ones thought so you're getting a biased opinion :p

Msn 4 Iphone

I got the im lite also, I love it except for the part that doesn't allow me to be logged on when I go to another app. Does anyone know if you can be logged on while going through other apps if u use im-lite?

I may have to check out this other app that was stated above but this limit of 3hrs being logged on doesn't excite me too much!

Anyone have a good facebook app that you can be logged on while u r on other apps? I got a good one except logs me out arggggg....
