What's with this tiny female jack on the G4? It is too small for any external speaker system. Is there a connector that will accept the jacks that are on ALL speaker systems? Someone out there knows something... give it up please...

What G4 Mac is this? Specs please. Is it a Tower? Cube? iMac all in one?

Some G4 Towers have a normal jack and a smaller one for Apples Pro Speakers. The Normal one works just fine with Amplified external speakers.

There are 4 sizes of audio jack - 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 6.35 mm and 6.5 mm. The 'mini' name was to distinguish between the larger jacks, which were commonly used for some years, and were too large for tight situations, and the next size down, the 3.5 mm. But it's got slightly complicated by the arrival of the 2.5 mm jack, but its use is not as common as the 3.5 mm. There are adaptors to change jack sizes.

Any electronics store from Radio Shack to CC & BB will have the adapter you need. Although, they may rip you off for $10 for it. Buying one online, the freight will cost more than the adapter, but still less than $10.

It could look like either of these, which are 2.5 to 3.5 adapters.
