I'm an imac newbie, a Dell PC refugee and trying to learn my imac. Question re Fusion installation please. Prior to installing Fusion, do I need to partition my hard drive using Boot Camp and then install windows? Or, as the Fusion instructions seem to imply, do I just install Fusion and then install Windows Vista from there? Many thanks.

It's not necessary to create a Boot Camp partition and install Vista prior to using Fusion. As a matter of fact, I highly recommend NOT doing it that way since it will require activating twice and can lead to other difficulties.

Just install Fusion (latest version is 2.0) and use the easy setup. Tell it how much space you wish to allocate to Vista and follow the Windows Fusion setup wizard which will also install the necessary guest tools.

Afterward, you can pop in your Vista DVD and install as per normal. When the installation has completed and you're certain everything is working OK, you can activate Vista.

Regards.

Many thanks. Learning the Mac is fairly daunting but we certainly are tired of all the security hassles and bad tech support with the PCs.

Actually, Mac is much easier. You just have to unlearn the nonsense Windows required.
