So I have to decide on a

Canon Power Shot SD790 IS ($199.00)

or

Canon Power Shot SD880 IS ($299.00)

Any suggestions? I assume both will work seamlessly with the mac.

Do tell how you would use it.

I would just use it as general camera to capture family moments. The basic point and shoot things. I'm not going to be shooting National Geographic photos but want to know if the 880 is any better than the 790, and is the $100 that much better.

Go with the cheaper one, save yourself $100. You would probably not ever notice the difference in pictures.

PowerShot SD1100

Strongly recommend the Canon PowerShot SD1100.

I have several digital cameras, including SLR's. The SD 1100 is the best all around you will find.

You can get it on Crutchfield.com for 179.99, free shipping and no tax.

Right. Canon makes excellent cameras. I used to own an Olympus FE-200 that was like 230$, and it was a piece of crap. Then I got a 120$ Canon Powershot A560... best P&S ever.
