Hey everybody

Im getting closer to mac owenership. Im really having a hard time getting the money together to buy a new MBP. $ is tight and my company killed the avalible OT to get anything saved up.

So here is my quagmire. Hopefully in 2 weeks Ill be in the price range to buy a puter. I am choosing mac for not only the superior OS but Im getting into video editing too. With the steep pricerange for a MBP is it safe to but a 3rd party refurb

These guys
Parts and service for iBooks, and all Mac Powerbooks

They advertise on the banner and this seems to be a legit site...

Is this too risky? Can I buy apple care for a refurb 3rd party mac?

Thanks

If you're going to buy a refurbished machine, I definitely recommend buying it from Apple. I've never done business with the seller you referred to, but I'm almost certain they will not give you the level of service that Apple will. It may cost you more $$ buying it from Apple, but you'll also get an iron clad warranty and the knowledge that if anything goes wrong with the machine, Apple will make it good.

Times are tough and money is tight, but sometimes we get "penny wise and pound foolish" (to use an old English expression), so be careful with your wallet. ;D

Regards.
