line in to line out

Hello i was wondering how to make this work. I want to plug my ipod in my line in on my macbook and then make the music go out the line out to my stereo

Why are you not just going from the line out on the iPod to the stereo? Not trying to be a smart you know what - just trying to understand.

hahaha yea i want to recored the music that im playing onto my harddrive as im listening to it for a project

Cool. Could you just get the files from your iPod onto the computer and then record it? Maybe using something like Senuti?

But, if this music is on your iPod, didn't it already come from iTunes on your Mac?
And you could simply play it in iTunes through your Mac's output with no need for the iPod at all.
Or are you really trying to get us to tell you how to hack your iPod to spread your music around illegally?

well that doesnt really matter anyways i download all my music so i dont care and i found out how to do it anyways so thanks for not helping me at all
