Ok, so I found an older ibook G4 12" and replaced the HD. I torrented an image of OSX10.4 and burned it to CD. I boot holding down option and it doesn't see the disc as bootable. So I download another copy from a different source. Same thing. I download a copy of OSX10.2 and burn that to cd and still it won't recognise the disc as bootable.. ***, am I missing something? I can't believe that I've downloaded 4 bogus versions of OSX. Maybe there's some trick to formatting the discs I'm burning to be bootable? The files are all there on the disc when I mount it in my other mac, I can see the installer but can't get any of my macs to recognise these discs as bootable....
Help?
