Hi,

I have bought a Lindy USB to Serial (42856) which is supposed to work with OSX, I have installed the driver and it shows up in the system profiler, but now im at a bit of a loss as how to connect to it.

i have had a look in /dev to see if there is anythnig that resembles it but nothing. I am trying to use screen to connect to my cisco routers console port.

If anyone can help that would be great!

ps. Sorry if i have posted to the wrong forum, wasnt sure where to put it.

Thanks

Not sure if this is a problem, but I see (on the Lindy website) that they do not provide OSX 10.5 (Leopard) drivers for this adapter. If you are using 10.5, the 10.4 drivers may or may not work.

If you can return this adapter, I would suggest using a Keyspan one instead; Keyspan is known for good Mac support, and they offer Leopard drivers.
