Setting default icons for file formats

Your Mac's Specs
13" MBP - 2.7 Ghz, Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM.
This is going to seem nitpicky, but I was wondering if there was a way to set default icons for file formats like .avi and .mp3? As it stands now, .avi takes the icon of the first frame of the video and .mp3 takes the icon of the album art. I'd prefer each format to take the icon of the default app. Is this possible?
