2.4GHz MacBook
I bought the Student edition for MS Office for Windows and it comes with a code that can be used 3 times. I'm wondering if the code will work on my MacBook because I want to get ride of my windows desktop. I really hope it'll work because I don't want to shell out 100+ on a software I already have. Please help anyone?

Take it you refer to Office 2008 for Mac? Install on the Macbook using the code on the back of the box. A Windows version, e.g. Office 2007, Office 2003 etc will not install on a Mac unless you are running Boot Camp or another similar program.

If you install Windows on your Mac, you will be able to run Office for Windows without a problem. Windows doesn't know your Mac from any other PC. However, you cannot use your Windows Office code to install Mac Office.

The Windows version will not install on your Mac unless you either run it in a VM (Parallels, Fusion) or from a Boot Camp partition with Windows installed. And yes, the activation code will work on a Mac if provided you install Office as I pointed out above.

I'm going to try right now not hurting anything I hope maybe except I didn't want anything from Microsoft on my mac lol.

Okay, are there free trials for mac like there is for windows? I can't seem to find the download for that

I searched and realized there is no trial version for Mac. And now I'm wondering it I can download the program onto my computer and punch in the code? I've been searching everywhere and can't find anything. Does the download program exist?

Your key from Office for windows will not work on Office for Mac, you will have to buy Office for Mac.
