Hi all.

I like to know if any of you know how to program the Chevy remote transmitter remotes for the door lock/unlock?

I just replaced the remote battery and it does not work, so I assume it needs to be re-programmed. Anyone know how to do this? Please post instructions? I have a 03 Tahoe. Thanks a mill

You usually don't reprogram the transmitter, it's part of the VATS (vehicle anti theft system) system used by GM.

On the newer systems like yours, the code changes each time the system is used and the BCM (body control module) may need to be reset. I dont remember off hand how the owner does this, but at the dealership, we used a scan tool (interface) with the vehicle to relearn the code. Take a look in your owners manual or give the local Chevy dealer a call, they might be able to help.

Do you have OnStar, they can do it with a simple phone call.

I will take a look when I get home to see if I have some more info for you.

MIle, Thanks for your input. The manual had nadda. I called a local GM dealership and they told me how to do it right over the phone. I got everything to work. Thank goodness :)
