Hi all - newbie here.

I need to upgrade my 2GHz Core Duo hard drive and have found a myriad of 'suitable' devices. It seems that a 320Gb one is the way to go but there are 7200.2, 7200. 3 and SATA300 ones available.

My query is what can this older model take? Any preference on manufacturer?

All help welcomed. Thanks in advance. Ken

Location
Brit in Tokyo.
Your Mac's Specs
MBP i7, Mac Mini & iPhone 3G.
It will take any SATA drive I believe. The biggest I found was the 7,200rpm 320GB HDD (I upgraded last week).

The 7200.3 is probably a Seagate HDD. That's more of a model number and it just indicates that it's the 3rd version I believe.

On another forum people reported a lot of vibration with their 7200 RPM drives. Anyone back this up?
