I have owned an iPhone since about a week after they came out. And ever

since 2.0 I have maybe had 1 or 2 days where the phone did not freeze.

What about you.......?

I got the 1st Gen iPhone the day it came out. I can't remember having but only a few freezes since I've gotten the phone, easily less than 5 in well over a year.

Here's a tip that while I cannot confirm with hard details if it "truly works", but based on my usage I'm fairly certain there is some truth to it. Don't load apps on the phone directly, only via iTunes. I've done a couple restores (from complete scratch) and have noticed a difference when I'm not loading apps to the phone directly.

Speaking of, have you done a restore? Might help.

Thanks for the tip! Usually don't upload via the phone but have from time to time. And yeah restores help, i probably restore once every 2 months.

Think I might save up for the new 3G

I have the new 3G and it doesn't freeze except if you jailbreak it and keep on installing applications from Cydia. As for applications from iTunes or App Store, they are totally clean and they never mess up my iPhone. But maybe it's because my usage is very simple, my daily usage is consisted of:

1) Alarm,
2) Phone Calls,
3) SMS,
4) Play a few games/applications.

That's it. I sometimes do open the internet to download some applications from App Store but that's like barely.

I could probably count on one hand the number of times my iPhone 3G has frozen since I bought mine, and I got mine in late July, so I've had it for a while.

But I did experience a problem the 3rd day after I bought it though. I am pretty sure it was because I accidentally turned Airport Mode ON (and I shouldn't have done that because it then recognizes if my sim card is official or not), and then I think it blocked my sim card or whatever, because whenever I tried dialing a number (by opening PHONE), the Phone application automatically closed within 0.1 seconds by itself again.
