Another quick question for you - I was thinking of getting the Canon 40D but read a couple of comments that say people were not overly happy with the 'weather proofing' of the 40D.

It is extremely unlikly that I'll be stood outside in a storm taking snaps BUT I am likely to get caught in the odd shower - would a DSLR have a problem with being caught in a bit of rain?

Are there any DSLRs that are a little more weather-proof than others?

obviously the more pro camera's are built to withstand the elements better, the d3 has proven to be almost indestructible (anyone seen that idiot on youtube with more money than sense trying to destroy a d3). the 40d would certainly handle light showers though. what i do is keep a shower cap in my pocket, if the rain gets to much just pop it over your camera, can keep shooting still as well.
