hey guys I have recently been given a non working Apple iMac G3 (M5521) Mac Desktop and was looking to see if I can get it back working. I am unsure of its history i.e. why it’s not working.

The os wont boot I just get a folder image switching between the mac image and a question mark.

I can’t get the drive to boot from the mac cd either by holding c or pressing CMD-OPT-SHIFT-DELETE.

I entered open firmware mode and reset everything. I then used the printenv boot-device 2 see the bootlist, I then used select boot-device and specified my cd drive , done mac-boot but still get the same image as I mention above.

Does anyone have any ideas what maybe wrong and or any more suggestions?
