Mac startup trouble

Having trouble booting computer mac performa 467 it
well go as far as the disk sign with the ? in the center
then stops. I thought it could be due to not having the
mouse connected to the key board or the cd drive
connected. I would try them but unable to find them at
this time.
If it is not the mouse or the cd drive what else could it
be and how can I fix it. Sorry my last post was not to
clear to be undertood.

Thanks

Could be a corrupted OS or a failed system disk. Can you boot off a install disk. I am assuming you are going to use either OS 8 or 9.

My reply to: PowerBookG4 and rman

I don't have anything to boot from system disk or install disk.
I don't have an OS disk either. I found the computer at work
at was able to keep it and at that time I was able to boot it
all the way and use it a little. Is there somewhere I can
download a boot disk? Is there a way to boot to something
like C:\ ? I am use to using a HP PC and would like to get to
know the mac world.

Thanks PowerBookG4 and rman for any and all help you may have.
