Hi all, it's my first time posting here.
The hard drive on my Macbook died (after 2 faithful years) and now I need to get a new one. It's one of the first generation Macbooks, the ones that first came out in 2006 with a 1.83 GHz processor. Just to make sure before I go rushing off to newegg and ordering any old hard drive, is it supposed to be
- SATA (can it be 3.0GB/s or should it be 1.5GB/s?)
- 2.5"
- RPM? Cache? (Actually, I have no idea what this is supposed to do.)

Just ranting on, I'm not particularly pleased with my Macbook - it died on me suddenly just when I had a few big tests this week and I didn't back up my data...so all my notes were lost. I felt like dumping it in the trash but I guess buying a hard drive is cheaper than buying a new laptop. I can live with the humongously loud fan whirring, the constant screen flickering and shortening battery life...but oh well, if anyone has any advice, it's welcome! :)

Your Mac's Specs

Any of these should work.
