Drawing Program with Drawing Grids?

i'm searching for a drawing program that will allow me to draw a grid over top of my image to ease the drawing process. i'm working on an art project and would prefer to draw from looking at the computer screen rather than printing out the images for fear of color loss, etc.

preferably free, but a demo will be okay for now.

illustrator. Adobe might have a 30 day free trial. Good luck!
