I have a G4 PowerBook with a screen that is starting to go. I am getting dead pixels and the backlight is dimming slowly over time. If I replace the screen, will that take care of the fluorescent tube backlight as well? If not, what parts do I need to order and where can I go to get the work done? (I live in San Diego, CA)

The backlight problem is directly related to a failing inverter board. You can find them fairly cheap on eBay and I suggest replacing it while you're replacing your screen.
