not sure if this is the correct forum, so feel free to move it..

but anyways, quick question: how do i stop finder from asking for my password for every little thing? doing simple tasks like moving, copying and deleting files is getting to be tedious because i'm always prompted to input my password. how can i deactivate this? thanks in advance

You can't. This is one of the features which make OS X so secure.

Think about it, malicious software can never install itself on your system without you giving it permission to. Therefore nothing can install itself secretly in the background, because the system needs your permission to proceed.

It's a good security feature.

I only get asked for the password when installing software.
Moving, copying, deleting etc., no password required.
Might be worth checking your permissions. I am the admin on my machine.
This is how my iMac set up left the machine the day I bought it.

I'm inclined to agree with neilf. It does seem the OP is getting hit unusually frequently.

DJ... what sort of files are you copying/deleting, and from where to where?
