Photo Booth seems very slow all of the sudden

I have had my Macbook Pro for 3 months (new mac convert). The last few days, I have noticed that Photo Booth in Leopard all of the sudden has a terrible delay in both the photo and video modes. I know that it used to have a very slight delay, but now it captures images basically in slow motion. It is especially annoying in the video mode and is virtually unusable. I have restarted the computer and tried it with no other programs open and it is still messed up.

Any ideas why this is happening?
