Just a quick question that should be easy to answer for most Mac users. what is a .sitx file, and what is a .dmg file? Thanks for your help.

StuffIt X is a new archive file format powered by Aladdin's ATOM compression technology. StuffIt X makes archives with a .SITX file extension. The StuffIt X file format integrates compression with security and safety options. Requires Stuffit Expander v7.0 or later (MAC) or Stuffit Deluxe v7.0 (Mac)/v8.0 (Windows) or later to create or open.
.dmg is a disk image. its like a hard file that when opened mounts a disk, like a cd or hd, a virtual disk containing info or usually apps and things like that. usually created in disk utility and only compatible with mac os x.
