executing programs on startup

Is there a way i can set OSX to execute an application everytime i login? For example, i want my weatherpop program to start automatically when i start my computer.

Try "Login Items" in System Preferences. I haven't actually used it myself, but it appears to me that it would accomplish what you are looking for.
