To be honest I'd be upset as well. He might have needed the Core2Duo for a specific reason (Java 6 on a Mac requires a 64-Bit processor for example... something I'm going to need for Uni).

But he should have gone about things a different way and talked to you directly about getting his money refunded and the macbook back to you.

Good point. He should have used diplomacy the negative feedback wasn't needed. I can see him getting upset,Buyers need to understand that Paypal now protects 100% of your purchases so it's not like he is going to lose anything.

He's a jerk...Plain and simple...I spoke to a fellow eBay seller who also received negative feedback from this buyer and this seller received threatening emails and so forth...The guy needs his butt whooped.

Did this other seller also make mistakes in his item description?

That is kind of the point of the ebay feedback system: giving feedback about whether you were happy with the transaction. He clearly wasn't. Whether or not he decides to resolve it with you first before leaving feedback is entirely up to him.

You mention in your auction that you're only interested in real offers etc. I'd suggest that the best way to avoid this kind of hassle in future is to make sure your listings are as accurate as possible.
