Hey all, I did a quick search to no avail so I figure I would post this to see if any hits came back.

I have just purchased a macbook. Love it. Also got a 1 TB time capsule to replace my "Windows Home Server" which I sold on eBay.

I have the backup all set for my macbook but am having an issue backing up my two vista machines to the network share.

I am coming up with an error that says:

"
The network share could not be accessed for the following reason:

The RPC server is unavailable. (0x800706BA)

Please ensure that the network location is valid.
"

I know it is because I have the share mapped to my hard drive, I have full read/write/execute access to it with the user logged in.

No matter what I put for credentials I get this error.

Anyone have a solution to it?

Thanks

I saw that, the software he uses is not free so I decided not to use that fix.

I am in a session with microsoft help which I have had good results with before. Hopefully they can resolve the problem.

From what I found doing a google search is just a bunch of open threads with no solutions and a bunch of peeved people at microsoft, so nothing new.

Maybe I will get lucky and be the first to post a solution to the problem! ;)

Nothing better than having a microsoft support chat open on my mac while we both work on my PC ;).
