Source code for picture galleries

I want to add a series of pages to my site featuring book cover thumbnails shown in galleries (there will be about 200 images). I've been using iPhoto to generate the code, but want to move on.

Can anyone suggest what code to use to create my own thumbnail galleries, and where to get it from?
