Anti-Virus for new Macbook...?

I just got new Macbook and I'm a first time Mac owner. Do I need anti-virus? I have over 35gb of music from a safe source and it was scanned on virus software 6 months old on Windows XP. I just put it all in my Macbook and want to know if I should get virus software and scan it. Thanks for the help.
