My macbook arrived today and my mom was out doing some shopping. She left at like 11AM and I got home at 4PM. The Fedex guy left my $1200 laptop right outside my door, delivered at 2PM. Is this normal? What if someone were to just take my beloved MB???

Was it shipped directly from Apple?

When I ordered my Macbook and they delivered it I wasn't home. They took it with them and delivered it the next day. Apple usually requires a signature.

Yeah, directly from Apple with the "Apple Refurbished" on the side. I know that normally they leave a note, and puralator did that for all my accessories, but this really scared me.

The weird thing is is that on the Fedex site when I'm tracking the order, it says that a signature is available (like I can see a pic of it) but I need to request it. Should I?

I would call up that Fed EX place and call him out on that. It's not cool to do that at all.

You got it didn't you? Does it suck that the delivery guy left it there? Sure, but since you still ended up getting it, I don't see the point in complaining about it unless you're planning on ordering a couple more over the next couple of weeks.

They're not supposed to do that. Apple requires a signature. It's possible your parents have a signature on-file with FedEx, I guess... but unlikely, unless they routinely get shipments from FedEx.
