Sent my macbook for repair due to hard drive failure and it was returned with a boot in screen active, normally my macbook just booted in without usernames. I would like to return it to that.
At the moment it has 2 accounts 1 is my username and the other is called user.
could someone email me instructions on how to remove boot menu.
Thanks

Are you referring to the guest account? All users should be displayed as well.
You can always set up Automatic login as well, for your account.

cant figure it out either, when it boots up it shows 2 log ins, mine and user, when I look in login options it shows mine and guest also the tick box for auto login is ticked, stranger is if I do an auto update and it has to reboot it bypasses the login screen but turned on from cold it comes to the login screen - wonder if its a glitch?

May want to try OnyX. Repair permissions, run maintenance scripts, etc.. You can even check for corrupt preference files.
As you mentioned, a little odd...
