Apple Macbook power socket issue

When i was cleaning my Macbook i accidentally rubbed away the plastic layer on the Macbook portion of the power socket. Now it's essentially a metal to metal contact with the MagSafe adapter.

I was wondering if it's safe to use? I don't see how it could be unsafe but some additional confirmation would be nice. :)

I really really wouldn't trust it. It's like playing with fire in my opinion. Do you still have applecare?
