question about improving signal with airport.

I understand there is an airport extreme and an airport express but I don't know if this is what I'm looking for. I live at an apartment and I receive my internet through the apartments wireless router which goes throughout the entire complex but my signal is often weak. I guess I'm just curious if there is anything out there that could help improve the signal's strength?

Since you're receiving the signal from a central source (apartment complex) there isn't much you can do to improve reception strength. Usually, it's the apartments which are closest to the source of the signal that get the best reception. Try moving the machine to various locations within your apartment and choose the spot which results in the best signal. Of course if that winds up being the bathroom....
