Warranty Question

Got a warranty question bought a MBP santa rosa processor in March 2008, at the time I did not have the money to buy the extended warranty so as of the moment my MBP is about 7 months old. Question is how long do I have to be able to get the extended warranty? I was told I had about 9 months after that apple kinda frowns on the extended warranty, is that true? Any one experience something like that?

You can get AppleCare within a year of purchase, so you still have at least 5 months to go before you lose the opportunity.
