Hi

I have two G5's. one is a fairly new intel based G5, I use this for music production only. My other mac is a G5 1.8GHz single processor that I use on a daily basis for graphic and web design. I'm just wondering how much better performance/speed I would see if I upgraded my 1.8GHz G5 to a 2.3GHz model, running (on a daily basis) CS3 Creative Suite - Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, Fireworks and Photoshop?

Two specs to compare then, are:
1.8GHz single processor with 4gb Ram
2.3GHz dual processor with 4gb Ram

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Your Mac's Specs
Al iMac 20" 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
G5 = IBM
Core 2 Duo = Intel

No such thing as a G5 Intel.

I'm not sure what processor is in either machine. Go to the Apple logo in the top left and select 'About this Mac'

Okay Mac Pro 3GHz Quad Xeon I should have said, but that's irrelevant to the two macs in question, which are -

For comparison
1 - 1.8GHz PowerPC G5
2 - 2.3GHz Dual PowerPC Dual G5

Good question. To be honest, I doubt you'd see a huge leap in performance. Sure, you'd knock some time off Photoshop filters, but CS3 as a whole isn't that demanding.
