Hey I hope someone here can help me.
I'm learning html so I can build a website on my iMac using the TextEdit but how should I save it?
In the save as 'File Format' drop down box, if I save it as an html document then go to open it in my browser, it just comes up showing the html code and not a web page.
If I save it as Rich Text Format (RTF) and try to open it in the browser it says something along the lines of, this doument has been created using binary, do I want to save it? Whatever I do it just 'saves' and won't open in the browser. I've tried the other options too with no luck.
I've heard it should be saved as simply an htm file, but this isn't an option.
I've had the html proof read by a friend and that appears to be fine so I can only assume it's how I'm saving it that is the problem.
Any advice on this would be gratefully received, thanks. James
