How to set default programme to open my AVI files

Hi All,

Im not new to mac os X, i own a iMac Intel based and just recently got a MBP. All this while in my iMac, the videos files i open are usually by VLC. But in my MBP, the default is QuickTime. is there anyway that i could change this? i forgotten how i did it the last time.

all you have to do is alternate click on a file that would normally default to quicktime and select get info.

Then under "open with" select VLC and then click the check box for apply to all.
