when i remove it from the sidebar, it's not really gone, is it?
i deleted a smart folder and created a new one.
then i had to rename it, because the name was already in use.
i tried looking for the saved searches folder, but i can't find it.

Removing a folder from the sidebar does not delete it. The item can be located in the Finder and then dragged back onto the sidebar.

I believe Smart Folders are stored in User > Library > Saved Searches. I tried to search for the 'Saved Searches' folder in the Finder and the search did not locate it. I was able to manually navigate to it though. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind this.

What kind of Smart Folder are you trying to delete?

Is it an iTunes Playlist?
One in the Finder that searches for new Images or recently added documents.

If you could further inform me, I might be of more help

Thanks!

thanks Mcj., but i think Jaygray solved it :)

i was able to get there manually too, but like him, i still don't understand why i couldn't get to the Saved Searches folder through a spotlight search...
