wont start up properly and folder and question mark image?

My macbook was fine earlier, till it froze. Force quit did not work, so i shut it down via the power off button.

I turned it on later to find it would not turn on properly, it stays on the white start up screen , the apple logo does not appear.
After waiting 10 mins a folder with a question mark sign appears on the white screen. The mouse does not appear, so i cant click on it.
I dont know what to do!!!

If none of these work, you are probably in the same boat as me, which is a hard drive failure. Taking mine to Apple tomorrow.

Well my thread shows what happened to mine, what I call a miracle. It works now! Gotta love Apple!
