Hello,
Im looking for an external sound card I can connect to my mackbook.. my old computer got stolen out of my girlfriends car and now i have no where to record!!.. I already have a pre, mixer etc.. so i dont really need combos

since its external i really want to support fire wire.. and it must have two 1/4 ins and two 1/4 outs..

and im willing to drop 100-300 on it..

Curious as to why you're looking for a sound card. Could be that you're looking for an audio input of sorts. What are you looking to achieve with they 1/4 outs?

The 1/4 is used for larger mics and music instruments.
I did a quick look and there is alot to choose from in that price range. Check out online vendors with users reviews like musiciansfriends.com.

One comment, Firewire is phased out on the new Macbooks. You may reconsider the firewire option for future computers. I believe they work fine on USB these days.
