iPod Shuffle error--what's with the blinking lights?

My 1st-gen Shuffle is possessed--it only will alternately flash orange/green blinking lights now whenever I push any button. No music, no functioning. It's fully charged. Suggestions on how I recover this iPod? thanks--Pete

Mine does that often, Switching the power switch off then on seems to fix it.

Thanks, but no luck with cycling the power on/off. I also checked the user's guide and Apple didn't address this condition.

Do a restore. It is definitely worth a shot ;D
