MS Word merge 2 .doc

Hi, I have two .doc that I want in one so that I can have the pages numbered. How do I do this?
Thanks.

Also Can I only add page numbers with footnotes or is there a different way?

You can import the second document into the first or you can copy and paste the second document into the first.

You do not need to insert footnotes to number pages in Word. The functions are separate. You can use one without the other.
