MBP 2.4Ghz- or 2.53GHz-version?

So...

Finally the new Macbook Pro's arrived.
I've waited for this update in months - although I haven't got the money before now.
A few days ago, I would have chosen the $2499 with 2GB of memory, and then upgrade the RAM after a few months. (Even a Macbook is faster than our PC right now - so I don't need 4GB to start with)
The things different for the 2 versions is:
Graphic with 256MB vs 512MB
2GB vs 4GB
2.4GHz vs 2.53GHz
250GB HDD vs 320GB HDD

So it's not a lot.

If I'm taking the cheapest (2.4GHz-version) I'll upgrade the HDD to at least 320GB @ 5400.

So my question is:
Is it worth all the money to just to get 0.13GHz, 256MB and 2GB RAM extra?
I'm also byuing a TimeCapsule...

What I'm gonna do on the Mac:
Working with MAMP and my own site.
Using Photoshop to edit pictures, and making icons.
Maybe playing some more. (Just some WoW and Spore)
Having a lot of things open (6-8 spaces)
Maybe running VMW Fusion with XP/Vista and Ubuntu/Debian.
(I've only tried a Mac a few times, but I've "studied" a lot on the internet)

If you've got the money for the faster one, why not go for that? Especially if you're planning on keeping it for awhile. Even on the lower one, the video cards are amazing and it will run everything that you can throw at it, but if you've got the money and you've saved up for it, why not?

It'll just be better in the long run.

But is it something I'm really gonna use?
What if I'm going to buy a Mac Pro or an iMac in a year or two?

Well if you are going to buy the best MBP it's pretty much almost a desktop replacement. Hook it up to an external monitor and you are pretty much set.

It also depends on what you plan on using your Mac for.

I'm not going to buy the best (2.8GHz) but maybe the 2.53GHz...
But I'm not quite sure if it's worth it...

If you are going to be running VMware fusion and have several applications such as Photoshop open along side it I recommend having 4GB of RAM.

2.53 Ghz Processor should be fine.

I had this problem. I bought the 2.53GHz. What the difference is like 500US. I was thinking I would get the 2.4Ghz and get more RAM later. That is going to cost me 20,000¥. In Japan the 2.4 is 228,000¥ and the 2.53Ghz os 288,000 so I added the cost of the upgrade (I know in the future the price will go down but eh). So I paid 40,000¥ for a bigger HD, more VRAM and faster CPU. That is about 400US that is great. Also remember that the 2.4 has 3MB L2 Cache and the 2.53Ghz has 6MB. When you are using large files and compressing. My friends Mac Pro has 6MB for each dual core.

The 2.53 is a better machine, now they are closely matched but in a few years then the CPU has to work harder to keep up with the new software the 2.53 will be fairing much better.

Also please let us know what you decide and why.

Kind of off topic, but don't waste your money on a Time Capsule. You're better off buying an external HDD and using Time Machine.
